He was a native of Great Bend, Kansas - born in 1874. He had a varied career as a pharmacist, journalist, commercial artist and advertising manager for Campbell-Taggart Assoc. Bakeries in Dallas. Royalties alone made him independently wealthy. He was a self-taught artist - his work being mostly watercolors and prints.
