Charles Earl Bradbury 1888-1967
Bradbury painted in an Impressionist and sometimes Pointillist style. His work included landscapes, and he was also well known for his portrait work.
Born in North Bay, NY, Bradbury studied at Syracuse University, NY, Academie Julian in Paris, and with noted American artist Hugh Breckenridge at the Breckenridge School of Art, Gloucester, MA. Bradbury traveled Europe painting after college.
Mr. Bradbury was a Professor of Art at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign from 1931-1956. Charles taught painting courses including an artistic anatomy course and wrote a Book entitled The Anatomy and Construction of the Human Figure-McCraw Publishing.
