Born in Canada in 1870. Kahrs was a resident of San Francisco in the 1890s to 1901. While there, he did political cartoons for the Call. He then moved to Canada and continued in newspaper work in Ottawa until his death of tuberculosis in Mt Vernon on April 7, 1904.
