Born in Illinois on June 9, 1899, Charles Tamplin moved to Santa Barbara, California in the early 1920s. A banker, he painted in his leisure.
His mural of River Jordan is in the First Baptist Church of Santa Barbara.
He died in Glendale, CA on Dec. 6, 1953.
His work includes landscapes, still life, and Spanish genre.
