Biography   Charles Hudson


The following, submitted November 2005, is from Paula Guttilla, whose family owns several painting and drawings by Charles W Hudson and also the letters from the Emersons, son and daughter of Ralph Waldo Emerson and close friends of Hudson.

Guttilla writes:  "My mother and her sister (Great nieces) are the only desendents of Charles W Hudson. My Great-Great Uncle Charles W Hudson was the brother of Samuel Lorenzo Hudson my Great Grandfather and was the son of Lorenzo Dow Hudson."



Charles W Hudson, American Landscape Artist, studied at the School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts under the artists Emil Grundman, Edmund  C Tarbell, and Frank W Benson.  At age seventeen (1887), he becam   ...  Displaying 750 of 4922 characters.
