Biography Cora Ella Miller
Born in Jenkintown, PA, Cora Ella Miller was active in Washington, D.C. in 1911 and then in Philadelphia where she studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts with Hugh Breckenridge and with Fred Wagner.
She was a member of the Plastic Club in Philadelphia and exhibited at Kaier and Allman Galleries and in 1926 in an exhibition of five women artists. The Plastic Club, one of the oldest art organizations for women in the United States, was founded in 1897 and included many prominent artists in its membership such as Cecilia Beaux, Violet Oakley, Emily Sartain, Fern Coppedge, Elizabeth Fisher Washington, and Alice Barber Stephens.
