Cristoforo Munari was born in the Emilia region of Italy in 1667.
During his early career, he specialized in rustic kitchen still life. After moving to Rome in the late 17th century, he began to include costlier props such as Chinese porcelain bowls and silver dishes to his repertoir of motifs. These became his trademark.
Cristoforo Munari died in Italy in 1720.
