Canton, Ohio-born artist Daisy Erin Erb studied at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D. C., the Académie Julian in Paris, and in England and Germany. When she first arrived in Palm Beach, Florida, by 1908, Erb took the lead of Laura Woodward  (1834-1926) and set up a studio at Hotel Royal Poinciana where she too sold paintings of the jungle trails to the well-heeled tourists. Later Erb maintained a studio at other locations around the island, where she painted with her mother, Norrie.

Daisy Erb was also a successful artisan whose handicrafts ranged from jewelry design (which earned her a gold medal at the Panama Pacific Exposition) to furniture and tooled leather objects. But   ...  Displaying 750 of 2053 characters.
