Biography David Turner
From Onley, Virginia, he is a wildlife sculptor who was born and raised on a wildlife-rich peninsula between Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. In 1999, he was the featured sculptor at the "Southwestern Wildlife Expo" in Charleston, South Carolina. A group of 15 bronze geese by him are in the Chicago Botanic Garden, and three pieces are at his alma mater, William and Mary College.
He grew up on the rural Virginia coast, hunting and fishing in remote areas, and learned early to sculpt from his father, William Turner, who put himself through dental school selling his sculpture.
