Born in Maine on Oct. 20, 1877. By the turn of the century "Dane" Gregory had moved to San Francisco. After the earthquake of 1906, he moved across the bay to Oakland and was a roomate of Selden Gile with whom he often painted. By the 1920s he was ferrying to a commercial art studio in San Francisco. He died in Oakland on Oct. 20, 1956. A highly skilled landscape painter, his works are rare.
