Born in Nancy, France in 1972, Petitjean is a self-taught artist, who has learned through observation and travel.
From 1994 until around the year 2000, she painted in a studio in NewYork City, across from the Guggenheim Museum. She returned to France in 2000, establishing her studio in Vence, behind the cathedral and next to the historic bell tower.
She uses all kinds of mediums like sand, marble dust, natural fabrics, pastels, graphite and charcoal for her abstract paintings, which benefit from both, the intentional and unintentional collision of these elements.
