Biography   Donald Stinson


Known as a craftsman for his wall hangings, enamel on copper, and as an educator, Donald R. Stinson was active in California, where he was a teacher at the Simon Rodia Art Center, adjacent to the Watts Towers.  He had been a student in 1953-1954 in Frankfurt, Germany, and from 1960 to 1962 at the Barnsdall Art Center in Los Angeles.

Exhibition venues included Mills College in 1971, the Oakland Museum in 1970 and the Barnsdall All City Watts Festival.  Stinson was a member of the Balck Art Council and Art West Association of Los Angeles.
