Doramaria Purschian, also Dora Purschian, was a German Graphic artist and art painter, who mainly painted in oil.
Purschian was the daughter of the engineer Ernst Purschian and his wife Gabriela. She visited from 1907 until 1909 the Royal School of Art (drawing-teacher seminar) in Berlin. Remarkable is that they allowed her as a woman to be admitted, which at the time was extremely controversial.
The Berlin State Academy of Art took up women as female students only in 1919. In the year 1909, she passed the exam as a teacher. In 1912 she began her education as a female student from Fritz Burger and Lovis Corinth.
