Dwight Frederick Boyden (1860 - 1933)
Dwight Boyden was born in Boston in 1860. He attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology and in 1882 went to Paris to study art. There he attended the Academy Julian*, and was a pupil of Gustave Boulanger and Jules Lefebvre. His main focus was landscape and coastal views. In the sixteen years he remained in Paris, Boyden won several awards at the Paris Salon*, including a Gold Medal in 1900.
Returning home, the artist exhibited at the Boston Art Club* and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts*. He was also a member of several clubs, including the Brookline Country Club, the Boston Athletic Club, The Algonquin Club, and the New
