Edward B. Black was an artist who lived in the Harrisburg (Pennsylvania) area and who later worked in Florida. Black painted around the turn of the century producing exquisite watercolors and oils of the Susquehanna River.
He was a founder of the Harrisburg Art Association, and his works are the collection of the State Museum of Pennsylvania and the Historical Society of Dauphin County. He probably was a student of C. Day Rudy who established a mural studio in the Harrisburg area in the late 19th century.
Black came from some money as he lived in a lovely stone home (still standing) along the Susquehanna river just north of Harrisburg. He speculated in land and developed the town of Perdix which is in Perry County. He
