Biography Earl Brewster
Earl Henry Brewster was born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio in 1878. He studied at the Cleveland School of Art, until the age of twenty when he moved to New York, attending the New York School of Art and the Art Students League. It was during this time that an association with Frank Vincent Du Mond began, which included visits to work at the Old Lyme Art Colony.
Brewster married the artist Achsah Barlow in 1910, and they had a daughter named Harwood. They toured Europe extensively and became friends with many of the notable artists and writers of the day including, D.H.Lawrence.
In 1936, Brewster moved to India, where a valued collection of paintings is held in the Government Museum and Art Gallery in Chandigarh.&nb
