The following was submitted by the artist, July 2003.

Ed Furuike was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii during the days when Hawaii was still a territory of the United States. When he was 14 years old in 1959, Hawaii became the 50th State of the Union bringing major changes to his casual Hawaiian lifestyle. He started painting in 1975 using only a palette knife, and became one of Hawaii's oil painters, best known for his interpretation of the subject. "When I held the palette knife for the first time, I knew what I would be doing for the rest of my life."

Furuike's passion and love of nature's fragile beauty is intended to be reflected in his work as he traveled about the Islands and captured the mystical beauty of the mounta   ...  Displaying 750 of 3633 characters.
