Biography Edith Jeannette Roddy
Edith Jeannette Roddy was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania in 1895. She first studied fine art at the Boston Museum of Fine Art School followed by a grand tour of Europe for a number of years where she visited museums and collections of fine art.
Back in the United States she studied painting and watercolor with Charles Hawthorne and George Pearce Ennis, two important and influential teachers at the Art Students League in New York City. Roddy also took classes at the school of the National League of American Pen Women, the Syracuse Art Association and the Southern States Art League.
After a permanent move to Florida, she exhibited her work widely with exhibitions and awards at the Sarasota Art Association, the Clearwater Art
