Born June 7, 1878 in Saginaw, Michigan. Never married.
She taught music while at home with the family. She lived for a short time in Chicago around 1900, and then in Saginaw, Michigan by 1910.
By the time of the 1920 Census, she had moved to New Milford, Connecticut, where she was also a landscape painter.
Parents were Alfred and Emily (Whittlesey) Newton. He was in real estate.
She was also a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution.
