Biography Edna Leonhardt Acker
A textile designer, painter and teacher, Edna Acker was a long-time resident of Philadelphia. She had design clients that included Moss Rose Manufacturing Company and Brooks Brothers men's clothing. She was President and Director of Leonhardt Textile Studios and also was a professor at the Moore College of Art* in Philadelphia.
She had studied at the Philadelphia School of Design for Women, which became Moore College of Art. On a Widner European Fellowship, she spent time abroad, studying in London at the Royal Academy of Art, and the Victoria & Albert Museum, and in Paris, Germany and Italy.
Memberships included the Philadelphia Art Alliance*.
