Efthimios Papdimitriou was born in 1895 in Athens and died in Greece in 1958.
He attended drawing lessons near the painters E. Kontiadi and B. Hatzis. In the period 1922 - 1929, he was in Paris taking courses in free academies, while visiting museums in Rome, Venice, Florence and London. He also engraved woodcuts to throw wood. His compositions are mainly still lifes with landscapes and portraits. The still lifes are compositions which reveal his personal idiom. Pitchers, fruit, glasses, and fish are the objects commonly used. His works are selected for the geometric structure, combined like shapes and enclosed tightly within the strict contours of the wooden plate.
