Born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 16, 1896, Elberta Jones began her art studies at the Art Institute of Chicago. By the early 1930s she had settled in Los Angeles and further studied at Chouinard and Otis Art Institutes.
During WWII she painted portraits of servicemen in Navy and Army hospitals.
Jones died in Orange County, CA on April 1, 1985.
