Biography Elizabeth Boyd White Hall
The daughter of Edward A. White, prominent physician, and Susan (Witmer) White, Elizabeth Boyd White Hall was raised in Philadelphia where she attended The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts for four years, 1919-1923. Then she spent two years in Europe, mostly in Paris where she enrolled in the Grand Chaumiere.
A return to Philadelphia was followed by a visit to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1929. Planning to stay for three months, she instead remained there, and also traveled extensively in the Southwest including to Arizona in 1937, and also to Los Angeles from 1946 to 1951.
She married three times: Frank W. Andrews, Eugene Van Cleve, and Ned Hall.
Signatures on her paintings were E. Boyd and E. Boyd Hall.
