Biography Ellen Levy
Often working in a large scale, her paintings and sculpture depict fractured scenes of tumultous activity including the famous San Francisco earthquake, scenes from science such as the toppled statue of Louis Agassiz, the 19th century naturalist, and ironically contrastingmotifs from 20th-century culture including Marilyn Monroe with blowing skirts. An exhibition of her work was held in the fall, 1998 by the Associated American Artists in New York City.
