Born Baltimore, Maryland.  Died Pennock Terrace, Lansdowne, Pennsylvania.

Ahrens, Ellen Wetherald, portraits in oil, miniatures, illustration; born in Baltimore, Md., June 6, 1859; daughter of Adolph and Anne A. (Wetherald) Ahrens; studied in Boston Museum of Fine Arts; Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and Drexel Institute. 

Has exhibited in all prominent cities; received silver medal and $1,000 prize at Carnegie Institute, Pittsburg; second Tappan prize Pennsylvania Academy Of Fine Arts; bronze medal at St. Louis Exposition. For oils; bronze medal at St. Louis Exposition.
