Biography   Emanuel Wyttenbach


The following is from Janice Sutcliffe:

Emanuel Wyttenbach was my great grandfather.  He was born July 30, 1841 in
Bern, Switzerland, and died September 17, 1903 in Brooklyn New York.  He
lived in three areas: Los Angeles, San Francisco (Hayward) and New York.  He
illustrated the covers of a horse racing magazine called Breeder and Sportsman, and did lithographs for a company called Crocker.  He illustrated a book called Early Life, and one called History of Contra Costa County.

I was thrilled to find the painting, Crossing the River on your site as I have only seen his drawings, not his oils.  My mother used to talk about two paintings of his, one a very large   ...  Displaying 750 of 1336 characters.
