Biography Emilio (Abe) Aguilar Cruz
Emilio Aguilar Cruz (1951 - 1991) was an artist, writer, art-critic, and a nationalist born from the Phillipines town of Magalang, which is situated at the foot of Mount Arayat, which was his inspiration for many of his paintings and essays.
Since seven years old he had already been inclined towards the arts: He was constantly painting and drawing at this age. Aguilar studied Fine Arts in the University of the Philippines before the war but had decided to drop out after a year because according to him, he "was confined to paint stuffed animals and ketchup bottles."
Although it was said that his works were emanating a "French" air, his works were clearly still Filipino in portrayal of "Philippine sceneries and figures".Source: Emilio Aguilar-Cruz (n.a.)(n.d.) Retrieved from http://www.oocities.org/sinupan/agularac.htm
