Born on June 20, 1893 in Rich Township, Lapeer County, near Mayville Michigan.
Ernest attended Adrian Art College with the encouragement and support of his mother Katie, from whom he inherited his artistic talents. He began his career in 1912. In 1926 he lived in Detroit where he was an Art Director. He was a well respected artist starting in commercial art and later advanced to doing private sales and commissioned pieces for a host of private and commercial clients.
