Biography Ernst Deger
Ernst Deger painted a large format altarpiece of the Virgin with the lively Christ child on her arm for the Church of St. Andrew in Düsseldorf, which is among the most
well-known works of the Düsseldorf School of painters. Deger was
involved in the decoration of the important Gothic Revival style church
of St. Apollinaris in Remagen and was also commissioned to decorate the
chapel at Stolzenfels Castle by the Prussian King Frederick William IV.
