Biography Eugenie Glaman
Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, she left there to live with her father, Henry Fish, on a Kansas sheep ranch where she was raised on land that bordered the wild territory where Indians, wolves, and coyotes roamed the plains.
Her father, with little education but with blue-blood ties to the Stuyvesants of New York state, had a library with many books about sheep, and she was fascinated by these animals and drew pictures all over the margins.
As a child, she was raised as a tomboy, doing much sheep herding and other ranching chores but at age ten returned to her grandmother's home in St. Joseph, Missouri to attend school. After that, she joined her father, who had moved to Wellington, Kansas, and there she got her first formal art
