Eugenie Schein (1905-2003) was not only an artist but danced with Martha Graham. She worked both in oils and watercolors and her primary subjects were dancers and dancing. She lived in New York City and Miami, Florida. In the 1930's her art was displayed at the Midtown Galleries and Uptown Gallery in NYC. She also had an exhibition at the 92nd street Y in 1950 and participated in a group show at the Riverside museum. In addition to her art, she was an instructor in the Physical Education Department at Hunter College, and directed dance recitals of students at the college.
