Biography Everett Albert Herter
The son of Albert Herter, prominent artist and teacher and brother of American diplomat Christian Herter, Everett Herter was the first member of the American Camouflage Corps to be killed in action in France. According to The New York Times, April 1918, he was "the first man to be accepted for the camouflage section when that branch of the engineering arm was authorized by the War Department."
