Born in Murphy's Gulch, CA on Aug. 27, 1877. "Fannie" Hazen moved to San Francisco in the 1890s and studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Institute and had further training at Académie Moderne in Paris. A resident of San Francisco until about 1925, she then divided her time between Los Gatos and Los Angeles until the onset of WWII. She was the wife of B. F. Ledford at the time of her death in Los Angeles on Aug. 1, 1962.
