Felix Louis Omelich was born in Hungary on Nov. 7, 1896. Omelich came to the U.S. at an early age and grew up in Wilmington, DE. By 1920 he was working as a chemist in Los Angeles. He continued there into the 1930s as a mechanical engineer. He later settled in the Coachella Valley in southern California. By 1965 he was living in Cathedral City, CA. He died in Idyllwild, CA on July 30, 1983. His forte was desert landscapes with smoke trees.
