Ferdinand Lo Pinto was active/lived in New York, Pennsylvania.  Ferdinand Lo Pinto is known for landscape, portrait and genre paintings, illustrations, sculptures.

Biography   Ferdinand Lo Pinto


A painter, designer illustrator, and sculptor,  Ferdinand Lo Pinto was a member of the WPA* New York Easel Division, and one of 13 artists sent for the Alaska Federal Art Project (the project went from June to November, 1937; it was to be until December, but it was the rainiest summer on record, so the Artists were not able to do all seventy paintings as contracted to do.)  He illustrated with pen and ink drawings A Guide to Alaska.  He was trained at the National Academy of Design* and the Art Students League* in New York (until 1937) and studied with sculptor David Smith.

He worked in New York City from 1920 to the 1950s, when he moved to Pennsylvania.
