Biography Florence Stevenson
Active professionally in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Chicago, Florence Stevenson was born in Russellville, Alabama to John and Laura Moody Ezzell. She became a painter in oil and watercolor and also designed covers for publications including Literary Digest, La Revue Moderne and The Art World. One of her paintings, Mother and Child, is in the Rosenwald Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. In 1937, Stevenson was one of fifteen Chicago artists selected for the first edition of Who's Who of American Women.
Florence Stevenson studied at the Conservatory of Art and Music in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she won the Logan Prize, and at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts
