Born in San Diego, CA on Aug. 22, 1903. Silberhorn majored in art at San Diego State College and was a pupil of Everett G. Jackson and Dorr Bothwell. She began teaching at San Pasqual School and later in the school districts of El Cajon, Riverside County, and La Mesa-Spring Valley. After a brief marriage to teacher Lloyd Norse in the 1920s, she married sculptor Donal Hord in 1939. During the 1930s she began making Christmas ornaments which were collected all over the world. Mrs. Hord was a resident of San Diego until her demise in August 1995. Exh: SFAA, 1931; So. Calif. Artists, San Diego, 1934.
