Foster Caddell August 2, 1921 - June 2, 2013
Foster Caddell (1921 - 2013) of Voluntown, CT was known for his many portraits and landscapes and as a skilled illustrator. He was also an educator and author of instructional art books.
During WWII, he was assigned as an artist and spent 18 months of his three-year service, within the United States Army Air Corps, sketching and painting throughout the Pacific. After the war, Foster returned to work as a lithographer, but ultimately, he turned to freelance illustration and painting, preferring to work for himself.
He attended Rhode Island School of Design from 1940-1943 and furthered his education with private instruction from Robert Brackman, Guy
