Rediscovered recently, Francesco Corneliani is a protagonist of the Milanese scene of the second half of the 18th century (A. Morandotti, "Francesco Corneliani (1742-1814)." Nuovi Studi, I, 1996, 2, pp. 80-110, A. Morandotti, "La pittura", Milano neoclassica, Milan, 2001, pp. 419-443, A. Morandotti, "Opera di Gregorio De Ferrari and Francesco Corneliani in Europe for the Europa" , Nuovi Studi, XII, 2007, 13, pp. 131-138).
