Francis Joseph Bruguiere was born in San Francisco, CA on Oct. 15, 1879. Bruguiere had a studio in his native city until 1919 when he moved to New York City to work for Vanity Fair, Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar. There he was a friend and associate of photographer Alfred Stieglitz. He died in London, England on May 8, 1945. As well as photography, he occasionally painted and sculpted.
