Frank Ignatius Seriphic, b. October 10, is of Pittsburgh, London, Paris, New York City; Carthage, Missouri, and Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the father of Francis Zimbeaux (q.v.); a good friend of Henri Moser (q.v.); an interesting neo-romantic tonalist painter whose work can be very much like that of Albert Pinkham Ryder; and a remarkable independent and wholly committed "fine arts"-- oriented figure who had known Matisse and other famous artists during his residences in the French and British capitals.
He arrived back in the U.S. in 1914, where he and his wife, concert pianist Clotilda Wehlish, moved to New York and then Carthage, Missouri, through the 1910s, before Zimbeaux finally decided to join Moser out West in 1924. Wh
