Biography Franklin Bullis
Franklin Howard Bullis was born in Henderson, Minnesota, 1860 and died in New York City in 1937. He was married to Caroline L. Williams on September 29, 1886 and had ten children.
His parents were, Captain David Bullis and Lucinda Bullis, of Port Kent, NY and Franklin spent most of his life in Port Kent. The family, originally from Port Kent, homesteaded in Minnesota for a few years but moved back to Port Kent due to economic conditions.
Growing up in Port Kent on Lake Champlain influenced Franklin's paintings, which were often of the lake and the commercial boats plying the lake in that era.
