Frederick B. Serger was born in Ivancice, Czechoslovakia in 1889.
He studied at the Academy of Art in Munich, Paris, and Vienna. He worked primarily in
New York City and Woodstock, New York. He was a resident of Woodstock New
York and a member of the Woodstock Art Association. His work is in the permanent
collection of the Woodstock Art Association, the Museum of the City of Paris, the Art
Collectors and Art Association of Buffalo, NY, the Butler Art Institute, and the San
Francisco Museum of Art. Serger exhibited widely in the 1940s and 1950s in Europe
and America in both group and solo shows. He took many prizes in juried exhibitions.
He was a painter of figures, landscapes and still life.
