Biography   Frederick Grain

Frederick Grain drew sheet music covers and book illustrations for a company named Pendleton's in 1829 and 1830. He was also active as landscape and panorama painter in 1833-57.

Between 1833-48, Frederick Grain showed a number of panoramas in New York City and Boston and exhibited paintings at various galleries. In 1847 and 1848 he was living in Philadelphia, but he returned to New York City and was listed in the directories there until 1857.
