Biography Frederick Lyman, Jr.
Frederick Lyman served in the Army in the European Theatre of World War II where he was awarded the Purple Heart. After the war, Fred attended Yale University from which he graduated with honors. Most of his adult life was spent in Washington, New Jersey.
He became an artist working in watercolor, oil, and other media. He taught himself to build musical instruments. Jazz musicians appreciated his hand-built basses. Fred was a gentle man with a good sense of humor. He was very appreciative of the kind acts of others. He had a creative mind and found satisfaction in his many artistic endeavors and accomplishments.
