Biography Fritz Beckert
German architectural and landscape painter (1877 Leipzig until 1962 Dresden), attending school in Plauen, 1894-96 studies at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig, then to 1900 at the Dresden Academy at Friedrich Preller the Younger, master student of Gotthard Kuehl. Completion of the Academy with a gold medal, 1902 foundation of the artist group "the Elbier" in "Dresden Secession" which opened in 1909, from 1901 regular summer stays in Swiss francs, study tours through Bavaria, Austria and Italy, in 1905 attempt of establishing an art colony with R. Poeschmann u . R. Müller-Ehrenberg in Kirchberg / Jagst, since 1908 lecturer and 1925-45 professor of architectural painting and -zeichnen at TU Dresden, member of the Dresden memorial Council.
