Biography Fritz Wildhagen
Born in Moscow, Fritz Wildhagen initially studied art history under
Herman Grimm in Berlin and later painting at the Academy of Fine Arts
under Frederick Kallmorgen and Paul Vorgang. He traveled through large
parts of Europe and Africa as well as Persia and Russia. Wildhagen
worked in Berlin for many years, then in Gdansk and later in Westphalia.
He was a member of the National Association of Visual Artists in
Germany and the Berlin Artists’ Association. Wildhagen created mainly
impressionist landscapes in which he captured the seasonal atmospheres
of nature. Works by the artist are held at the Städtisches Museum in
