Georges Gaal was born in Hungary and based in Paris. He came to the Unites States in November 1961. Gaal was a painter, illustrator and art lecturer at San Jose State University and in Mexico City. He exhibited in Los Angeles, Palm Springs and Dallas, Texas.
The August 1962 issue of ArtForum International
reviewed Gaal's one-man exhibition at the Cowie Wilshire Gallery in Los Angeles: "Gaal’s small canvases are enlivened by luminous spots, or passages, of color. Most of the paintings are on the ornamental side, making this show a fascinating demonstration of decorative technique - J.E. (Jules Engel)."
