Biography Georgios Bouzianis
The Greek painter Georgios Bouzianis (1885-1959) began his artistic training at the Art Academy in Athens and moved to Munich in 1907, where he attended the Academy class of Otto Seitz (1846-1912). From 1910 onward Bouzianis deepened his skills under Max Liebermann (1847-1935) in Berlin, so that his rather naturalist style was eventually influenced by French Impressionism and Expressionism.
After spending several years in Paris, Bouzianis returned to Munich for a short period of time and was finally forced to go back to Athens due to the seizure of power of the National Socialists in Germany. In 1950 Georgios Bouzianis represented Greece at the Biennale in Venice. (cbo)
