Born in Sacramento, CA on Feb. 7, 1907. Stackpoole studied at the CSFA. He pursued an art career there until 1932 and then became a locomotive engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He died in San Francisco on April 1, 1971. Working in oil and watercolor, he produced landscapes and scenes of the Mother Lode country.
